Scholarships
Scranton Girls Rock is committed to keeping camp accessible for all youth, regardless of financial circumstances. We offer need-based scholarships to help cover full or partial camp tuition for families who may not otherwise be able to participate.
These scholarships are made possible through community support. If you believe in our mission, you can help sponsor a camper—either in full or in part—and directly contribute to a life-changing experience for a young person.
Every donation goes toward creating a more inclusive, empowering, and creative space for girls and gender-diverse youth in our community.

Mixing Music Live Scholarship
Sponsored By: Michelle Sabolchick
This scholarship is made possible by Michelle Sabolchick Pettinato, a groundbreaking concert sound engineer who has mixed sound for legends like Janet Jackson, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera, Cyndi Lauper, Adam Lambert, Kesha, and more.
Michelle built her career from the ground up—starting in a small coal town with no money, no connections, and no audio background. What she did have was a dream, determination, and the courage to keep going even when the odds were against her.
Now, through her platform MixingMusicLive.com, Michelle is teaching the next generation how to mix, create, and believe in themselves—and through this scholarship, she’s helping you get to camp.
“When you are tempted to look at yourself and think, How am I going to do this?
How am I going to make my dreams come true?
Don’t let your doubts hold you back. You may not come from privilege, and you may not be what people expect—but that doesn’t mean that you don’t have a chance.
It might be harder, but it’s never impossible.
If I can do it, anyone can.”
— Michelle Sabolchick Pettinato
The Mixing Music Live Scholarship offers full tuition support for one or more campers attending Scranton Girls Rock Summer Camp 2025—especially those who are ready to take a creative leap, explore something new, and turn the volume up on their dreams.

The Music Unlimited Scholarship
In honor of: Carol Louise Drury
Sponsored by: Caroline Jurosky
Carol Louise Drury was a woman who lived without limits. A musician, veteran, adventurer, Harley rider, and trailblazer—Carol shattered barriers in both military and environmental fields, all while creating space for other women to follow.
She proudly served 30 years in the United States Army and the New York Army National Guard, retiring with the rank of Major. As the second woman ever hired by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Division of Law Enforcement, she retired as a Captain, having mentored countless others as a firearms and defensive tactics instructor.
Later in life, she became a licensed New York State Guide and spent her retirement teaching outdoor skills to women through New York Outdoors Women, proving that it’s never too late to try something new or share your gifts.
Carol was known by her friends as “The Princess of Planning”—organizing cross-country motorcycle trips and showing others how to live boldly, love deeply, and never stop exploring.
In her spirit, the Music Unlimited Scholarship provides full or partial tuition for a camper attending Scranton Girls Rock Summer Camp—someone who is ready to express themselves, discover their courage, and find their voice through music and creativity.
This scholarship honors Carol’s belief that women and girls can do anything—and that music, adventure, and leadership are meant to be shared.
How to Apply
Write a short personal statement (3–5 sentences) answering the following prompt:
“Carol Drury was a musician, adventurer, veteran, and leader who believed in trying new things, standing up for yourself, and helping others do the same. Tell us how you relate to that. Is there a way you’ve shown courage, tried something new, or helped someone else feel strong?”
